Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University

Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University Bhagalpur campus is spreads over in Bhagalpur around 264 acres of beautiful lush green area. The TMBU has more than 36 teaching departments and 24 affiliated colleges, besides it also has 4 research centers.

TMBU Bhagalpur, fully recognized by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and has tied with major international universities such as University of Vienna, the University of Bristol, the University of Kent, University of Lyon, University of Notre Dame etc.

The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University Press of Tilka Manjhi, Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar established with a view to manage with all the printing work of University and its constituents colleges. The Bihar Government has given financial help for its inception. The University Press has also received some grants from U.G.C. for its development from time to time.

Formerly the press was started its functioning under the management of a Press Manager, Late Shri Sharif Miishra but after his unexpected demise in 1975 it is being supervised either by a Statutory Officer of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University or by a Professor-in-charge along with a statutory Press committee consisting of six members and some special invitees.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The TMBU Bhagalpur provides a separate Hostel Facilities for both Boys and Girls. University has 4 Boys Hostel and 3 Girls Hostel within the campus. The Hostel provides all the basic amenities to all the hostellers.

University library has around 1, 40,000 Books. The Library of TMBU subscribes to 123 Journal / Periodicals and 2 International Journal/Periodicals. The University has a Centralized Computer Centre with 30 Computer terminals.

A Medicare unit is functioning within the campus of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur under the scheme of U.G.C. welfare. The Health centre started its functioning from 1960 at the time of the establishment of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University - TMBU Bhagalpur. This unit provides medical facilities to students and faculty of University.

The unit has 3 medical officers namely Dr. Amitabh Kr. Sinha (CMO), Dr. Mridula Kumari and Dr. N. K. Podar, assisted by 2 compounders and supporting paramedical staffs. Two specialist doctors, Dr. Harshwardhan (Eye specialist) and Dr. Hem Shankar Sharma (Cardiologist) also give advice on specified days. The centre also has a pathology lab and an X-ray clinic, to provide investigation facilities, Apart from this, yoga classes are also being run in morning hours.
