Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible to the B.Sc. (N) a candidate have pass two years P.U.C. (10+2) examination of Karnataka P.U. Board or an equivalent examination of any other approved Board of universities with not less than 45% marks in any combination comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

In order to be eligible to the Post Certificate in Bachelor of Science (Nursing) – P.C. B.Sc. (Nursing) course, a Candidate should not be less than 48 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and has passed two years P.U.C. (10+2) examination of Karnataka P.U. Board or an equivalent examination of any other approved Board of universities and has passed GNM and is a Registered Nurse with or without experience.

In order to be eligible to the Master of Science (Nursing) – M.Sc. (Nursing) course, candidate should be a Registered Nurse with One year of experience after passing B.Sc. (Nursing) with minimum 55% of marks or after passing Post Certificate in B.Sc. (Nursing) based on the date mentioned in the Marks Card.

Admission Procedure

The application forms for the desired course will be issued in the college itself and the candidate can obtained it by paying DD of the specified amount and submitting all the documents required by the college.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The college has sixteen well equipped classrooms for students. The class rooms are equipped with LCD, Loud speaker and Over Head Projector.

The college has eight well equipped laboratories for fundamentals of Nursing, community Health Nursing, Nutrition, Maternity and child Health Nursing, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry and Microbiology for the use of students.

The college library is well equipped and has 3,138 books and 22 Journals (national and international) relating to various Nursing disciplines. Besides, internet facility is also available in the library. It has also got a separate PG section with 10 Computers and Internet connections. The library’s Helinet also serves as a portal to selected databases, full-text journals and information resources on the World Wide Web, including, Academic Search Complete, and many subject-specific resources.

The College provides clinical training facilities to all students at various reputed hospitals in the city like Mangalore Nursing Home, Govt. Wenlock Hospital, Somayaji Hospital, Lady Goschen Hospital and ESI Hospital. These hospitals are managed by reputed professionals.

The college has two canteens which are available for the students to suit their taste and pockets.

The college has provided excellent facilities for indoor and outdoor games including chess, caroms, table tennis, badminton, football, basket ball, volley ball, cricket and athletics.

Student Health Service is a comprehensive outpatient clinic that can meet most health needs of students.

Each student’s personal records are maintained, besides separate health records also are maintained with the details of Annual Medical Checkups and Vaccinations. Student’s   records are kept in strict confidence.

All the students must be take Hepatitis B (DNA) and tetanus toxoid

Counselling services like Admission and orientation counselling, Counselling at specific problems and Exit counselling are given to the students.

Placement and Future Prospects

Campus interview is being conducted by various agencies like Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and other agencies.  At present the students are working in Apollo Group of Hospitals, Escort Group of Hospitals, Manipal Group of Hospitals and Other local hospitals, schools and colleges.

The Alumni Association offers membership to all graduates of Srinivas Institute of Nursing Sciences. The institute is proud that many of our graduates hold positions of leadership in the profession, practicing in diverse clinical, academic and administrative settings. The Association aims to foster unity and fellowship among students and graduates of the College and to facilitate its development. Members of the Association also provide assistance with various College activities. All students are encouraged to become active members of the Alumni Association upon graduating.
