Shatavahana University

Shatavahana University, Karimnagar has a long history for its establishment. First it was started as Higher secondary school and then a degree level college and then to Shatavahana Institute of Post Graduate Studies with MA Economics and M.Com. Finally it was upgraded as Shatavahana University, Karimnagar in 2008. Currently, The University has eight courses that are M.A. in Economics, Urdu, Sociology, M.Com, M.B.A., M.C.A., and M.Sc. (Chemistry). University is situated at Jyothinagar, Karimnagar Andhra Pradesh state.

A number of colleges are affiliated toShatavahana University offering different courses in various disciplines. University has set minimum eligibility criteria for admission in to various courses in any of the affiliated college. There are entrance test for admission in to some of the postgraduate courses. University also encourages the students to become a good citizen by helping the needy person and involving in various social services through its NSS unit. University also run student welfare centre to provide any kind of help or aid to students.

Each department of University has formed its Alumni Association.
