Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur was established in the year 2005, as per an Act by the state legislature. It started functioning from the 1st April, 2006 primarily by taking over six government and two private Medical Colleges in its fold in.

Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur established under the Act Of State Government- “The Rajasthan University Of Health Sciences Act, 2005” (Act No. 1 of 2005)”on 25 day February, 2005, the University aims to disseminate and advance knowledge in medical and health sciences. The University provides academic and research facilities in various streams to the students studying in various Government Colleges (Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy & Paramedical) and private colleges/institutions affiliated to this University. The University endeavours the process of making itself a leader in world medical education by focusing on the systemic instructions, teaching, training and research activities.

Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur provides an excellent platform and ambience to advance, disseminate and nurture systematic knowledge in Medical and Health Sciences. RUHS Jaipur is very ambitious in providing leadership in quality medical education and making all medical students messengers for health and prosperity.

The objectives of the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur establishment is to disseminate and advance knowledge in medicine and dentistry and to ensure efficient and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research therein, To provide for a multipurpose super-speciality hospital and trauma centre by upgrading the existing institutions and to establish them as a centre of excellence; To treat patients in its hospitals; To establish a nursing training centre; To administer, manage and control the hospitals, including the Rehabilitation and Artificial Limb Centre, Jaipur, pathological laboratories, diagnostic centres and blood banks; To establish a tele-medicine department; To develop a reproductive and population control research institute; To develop a genetics department; To develop an environment and pollution control institute; To develop transfusion medicine; To develop a nutrition research centre; To develop gene-therapy, molecular biology, robotic surgery, bio-informatics, organs transplantation, bio-technology, immunology and clinical epidemiology and other facilities in medicine and dentistry; and To establish a centre for imparting training to teachers.

In addition to these examinations, this Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur has so far conducted various medical related regular examinations like P.G., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.Sc. Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, B.A.S.L.P., Pharmacy etc. and declared results in time. We are making all out efforts to make this University a pioneer University in medical research, education and in using innovative techniques in the preparations and conduct of various medical and allied examinations. We are in the process of making Entrance Test as model tests.

Rajasthan University of Health Sciences-RUHS Jaipur has to its credit an excellent infrastructure, state-of-the art laboratories, and modern equipment. It provides all the basic amenities to all the students. Sports and extra-curricular activities are regularly promoted.
