NIT, Arunachal Pradesh is one of those new NITs to be mentored by NIT, Durgapur. NIT Arunachal Pradesh shall be temporarily housed in Yupia, the district headquarters of the Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. The courses offered by the institute are Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. The procedure for selection of candidates for admission is based upon State Rank/ All India Rank (AIR) of AIEEE conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and the same is executed through counseling by Central Counseling Board, AIEEE under guidance from MHRD, GOI as per schedule notified by CCB. The site of the NIT is situated on a flat land surrounded by beautiful and green forest and mountains. The area is picturesque and serene and has an ideal academic environment. The class of NIT Arunachal Pradesh is located at a beautiful building and it is fully furnished. A separate hostel for girls and boys has been provided by the institute. The campus shall be having round the clock electricity and water supply facility. Internet and telecommunication facility are also being installed in the campus.
How to reach NIT Arunachal Pradesh ?
Yupia is around 18 kilometers from Itanagar and around 11 kilometers from Naharlagan, which is the twin capital town. The nearest railway station is Harmutty (Meter Gauge), which is around 36 kilometers. The nearest airport is Lilabari, which is around 50 kilometres and nearest helipad is at Naharlagan. Daily helicopter services are available between Guwahati and Naharlagan except on Sundays. Besides, day and night bus services are available from Guwahati, which is around 400 kilometres from Naharlagan.
