The University has a wide network of research stations in different agro-climatic zones. It has 23 research stations, 4 State level specialists and 16 research testing or verification centers located in different agro-climatic zones in addition to 4 Zonal research stations.

The Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri is directed by the Vice-Chancellor, appointed by the Hon.Chancellor of the State. The minister of Agriculture is pro chancellor of the University. University has started Agricultural Extension to provide knowledge on latest agricultural technologies to the farmers and agencies involved in agriculture development. Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) located in each district are affiliated to the university.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The Campus is located at 160 km from Pune on Pune-Delhi highway in Ahmednagar district. Ahmednagar town is located at 40 KM in South and Shirdi Saibaba is located at 50 KM in North of the campus. Rahuri Railway Station is 10 Km away from the campus. University Library is very big with 5500 theses, journals and books.

It provides all types of technological information to the students, teachers and scientists under the faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering at Central Campus. Campus library is provided with LAN connectivity with full access to internet and printer. Campus provides Wi-Fi access, dispensary, hostel facility with common hall and mess arrangement, reading room to the students and staff. Electronic library is soon going to be the part of campus.

University provides a number of scholarships and educational concessions to the students of various colleges affiliated to it. It organizes various educational tours for students to reputed institutions and organizations throughout the country to provide exposure to different environment.

Events and Happenings at MPKV

Various activities like inter-college tournament, Inter University tournament , ICAR Sports,Ashwamedgh sports meet , co-ordinate NSS program, inter-college play and drama competition in annual Social Gathering, Inter Collegiate Debating & Elocution competition, maintain the University Gymkhana hall and University playground at central campus, function like birth Anniverseries and punyatithis of National leaders, Co-ordinate the Physical Educational Programme etc. are the part of student welfare directorate.

Placements and Career Opportunities

A good placement and training cell provides all the assistance for the campus interviews in various national and multi-national banks, firms, companies. Recently a campus placement was organized by a college affiliated to the university, in which around 27 companies approached the college for recruitment and many students of MBA in agriculture attended the interview in college campus.

Students of the other colleges affiliated to the university have shown remarkable placements since the recession is over. They have been working as field associate, quality manager, administrator, business development executive, agronomist etc. in various agricultural companies and firm.
