Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya Jabalpur was founded by the Act No. 37 of 1995 of Government of Madhya Pradesh vides Gazette notification no. 537 dated 29 Nov 1995. The head office of the university is located at Brahms than of India (geographical centre of India) Village-Kirundi, District-Katni, Madhya Pradesh.

MMYVV is acknowledged by Universities Grants Commission (UGC) under the section 2 (F). MMYVV is an active member of Association of Indian Universities. It is alleged to disseminate life oriented Vedic education and job oriented Modern education. This is the only university who has introduced Vedic Science and its Technologies in mainstream of modern education.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya Jabalpur is an affiliating University with Jurisdiction cover over the complete Madhya Pradesh state. The University comprises of four premises, which are located at Vijay Nagar and Mangeli in Jabalpur, Bhopal and Indore.

The first vice chancellor and founder of the university is Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. Currently the chancellor of the university is Brahmachari (Dr.) Girish and guidance provided by Maharishi Ji, is trying to impart knowledge to large number of Students.

Other than Vedic courses, MMYVV Jabalpur also provides full time BBA and BCA programs approved by Directorate of Technical Education Madhya Pradesh. Fulltime B.Ed. and B.P.Ed programs are approved by NCTE [National Council of Teachers Education] are conducted from Jabalpur Campus. D.Ed. course is approved by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The major goal of MMYVV Jabalpur is “ideal individual, problem free, disease free, sorrow free, conflict free, happy and fulfill (shree Yukt) Ideal society, building ideal India and in the divine awakening of the land of the Veda, Land of perfection - Bharat to lead the way, to peace and happiness for the whole world”.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The newly built campus of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya Jabalpur is spread over a 150 acres land, located on the Eastern bank of religious river Narmada. The MMYVV Jabalpur provides all essential facilities like residential facilities for 400 students consisting of administrative and academic blocks, hostel blocks, dining halls, modern kitchens, 30,000 sq ft. auditorium, meditation halls, library, computer labs, faculty residence, indoor and outdoor sports facilities etc. Total constructed area of the MMYVV campus is about 300,000 sq ft.
