Kashi Institute of Technology: An Overview

Kashi Institute of Technology (KIT) offers first-class education with advanced amenities and infrastructure. The institute is situated in Varanasi.

In 2005, Jain Education Society was founded with the objective of setting up facilities to provide quality education in different fields. The promoters of this University belong to the Jain Community, and are leaders in doing social service in various fields. These promoters promoted Kanpur Institute of Technology in Kanpur, which is now well-known in the field of Engineering.

The college offers B.Tech programme in streams such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. The college also offers B.Pharmacy course and MBA course.

The institute is approved by the AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India in New Delhi. Government of Uttar Pradesh has also approved the Institute. The Institute is affiliated to U.P. Technical University in Lucknow. Kanpur Institute of Technology is the second Engineering college in Kanpur.

Apart from academics, the institute focuses on industry interaction and industry seminars. Students of the institute are encouraged to participate in training programs designed to increase their soft skills. A full fledged Placement Cell is also there to ensure employment for the graduation engineers.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The campus of the college is spread out to 10 acres of land on National Highway. The entire campus is connected through WiFi.

The computer center of the college is equipped with advanced computers. The center boasts 125 computers of HCL infosystems, with intel Pentium D 925@3.0 GHz Intel 945 GC chipset 512 MB DDR-2 RAM, 80GB Sata-2 (3Gbps) HDD and 6 Computer units as servers to work on the Windows and Linux platform.

The double storey library is situated in the separate block under the computer center, and is fully automated with Libsys and houses about 15000 volumes of bar-coded books. A digital library section is also there in the library.

A 150 room hostel is available for accommodating boys. A two-storeyed hostel is also available in the campus for girls.
