K.S. Institute of Technology was established in the year 1999. The college offers 4-year Bachelor Degree courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering both with an approved intake of 120, Telecommunication Engineering with an approved intake of 60 and Mechanical Engineering with an approved intake of 90 each. K.S.I.T is affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU) and are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

The Kammavari Sangham was established in 1952 to provide charitable service to community and society. The Sangham established the K.S Institute of Technology (KSIT) in 1999. It offers courses that lead to the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. The college provides Free hostel accommodation and scholarship to the deserving students in the community.
Eligibility
To Bachelor of Engineering Programme:
Candidates seeking admission to the General Merit seat should have passed the qualifying examination, which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent recognised by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology as one of the optional subjects. English is the compulsory language of study. There is no minimum mark fixed for entrance test and all the candidates who have taken the entrance test are eligible for the course.

Facilities
K.S. Institute of Technology provides hostel facilities to its students, separately for boys and girls. Single occupant rooms as well as two people sharing, three people sharing and four people sharing rooms are available in the hostels.
The institute has a completely automated library. The library comprises of books, journals, magazines, and digital material. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) allows users to search all materials available in the library. The library is open from 8.30 AM to 9 PM on all week days and from 8.30 AM to 5 PM on all Saturdays.
KSIT institute also encourages its students to participate in sports activities such as athletics, Volley ball tournament, throw ball tournament, swimming, cricket, kabadi, football, shuttle badminton, and gymnastics. The institute has hosted the VTU tournaments many times. University level gold medal winners and students who have received national level honours are all part of the University.
