Facilities and Infrastructure
The Central Library of City College is focuses towards imparting education and providing the modern information to the students for developing their knowledge. The library of City College Kolkata has a huge collection of books, periodicals and digital resources.
The library building of the university stretched over a sprawling area of 2300 sq.ft on the second storey of the College academic building and includes of Information Display Section, Circulation Desk, Reading Room, Stack Room, Processing Room and Reading Room for staff members. In addition to the Central Library, the College has 13 departmental libraries under the faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce.
The library collection includes a total number of books over 44 thousand related to various subjects of Arts, Commerce and Science. There is a stock of conventional Reference Books such as Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Handbook, Year book etc. for ready reference and general information. Journals are the important source of information. Electronic journals play a vital role in offering users with nascent information in the least possible time. Library collection also comprises of 32 CDs of books and other e-documents.
City college subscribes for various periodicals/Journals such as Chartered Accountants Today, Economic and Political Weekly , Resonance ,The Journal of the Indian Academy of Philosophy , World Affairs , Academy Patrika , Sahitya Parishad Patrika , Employment News , Frontline ,Science Reporter , Span etc.
