In 1985, Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College was established by Karnataka Central Diocese, Church of South India. The main aim of BCWCC is to educate students and make them future ethical leaders. Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College Details

Eligibility Criteria

For admissions to PUC course candidates should have secured minimum cut off mentioned by the college in 10th exam of any board either state, CBSE or ICSE. For admissions to Degree courses at this college, the candidates’ should have completed 10+2 with good percentage of marks.

How to Apply to BCWCC

Application forms are issued from April for both PUC & Degree courses.

Candidates’ applying for any of the above course have to take separate application forms from college or can be downloaded from the website by paying the required amount of Rs.20/- for degree and Rs.21/- for PUC.

The filled in application forms along with relevant certificates should be produced. In case the results have not been declared, a copy of the consolidated Marks Card of School/College Exam for that academic year should be attached provisionally and the original certificates are to be submitted after the results are declared.

Facilities at BCWCC

The college provides a well equipped seminar hall with projectors, spacious and well ventilated classrooms; numerous books for reference to students at the library, outdoor and indoor games and many more. There is a well equipped gymnasium and regular health check-ups are conducted for taking care of its student’s health.

The faculty is good and they provide efficient information to students about the latest developments in concerned fields. The college offers its faculty and students with ample space for parking their vehicles. The college organises cultural week, social awareness programmes and sports day and so on for overall personality development of its students.

The college has a Chapel for offering daily prayers. They also organise educational tours for students. The students are provided with placement training and personality development programmes to improve their communication skills and get placed in top multinational companies visiting the campus every year.

Accordingly, campus placements take place by reputed firms like Progeon, Dell, Cognizant Technologies, IBM, Fidelity, HTMT and others. Companies also conduct skill based certified courses on campus. During the year 2005-06, around 55 students have been placed in different companies.

Students’ Life at BCWCC

The students who passed out from this college had a positive response towards the teaching and facilities provided to them by the college. The students were benefitted with good lectures, good food at canteen, huge library and so on.

Inter college sports and programmes held by the college helped the students to show cast their talent and build in their confidence. The students were happy with the hostel facilities provided by the college.

Famous Alumni of BCWCC

Few of the distinguished alumni of this prestigious college are Ms. Imkongla Jamir (IAS) Asst. Commissioner, Tiptur Division; Ms. Indira R - All India Presidents’ Gold Medal - Best NCC Cadet; Ariuntuya Tsend - Ayush from Mongolia worked as consultant for International Trade Centre, UNTACD/WTO in Geneva, Switzerland; Surovi Salgado from Sri Lanka is currently employed as Programe Co-ordinator on HIV AIDS-UNAIDS.
